How We Work

Our mission is to get to know and understand your needs, wants, and long-term goals. We want to help you develop, implement, and monitor a strategy that’s designed to address your individual situation.

We understand the challenges families face today.

Through financial Planning we can establish where you are at in achieving your goals, areas where you are strong and areas where you are weak, make recommendations to help you achieve the goals with more certainty, and monitor them with regular meeting to hold you accountably to do the things that need to be done to achieve what your say you want or change your goals. Life is constantly changing so your plan should be fluid as well to reflect that.

There are three ways to work with a financial representative.

Client Centered
  1. Product selection- The advisor helps you get a product like life insurance. They might do the paperwork and help you choose which company to use. Once you have obtained that product their job is done. They may still keep in touch, but their job is done. The way they get paid is the company they help you with pays them once the process is complete.
  2. Money Management- This is normal referred to as a financial advisor. The advisor gets to know what your goals are with the money you have them manage, your risk tolerance, and liquidity needs for said monies. Once a goal is determined, the advisor will then manager the money accordingly. There is a fiduciary role the advisor plays. What that means is the advisor must always keep your best interest first and foremost in making all recommendations. They way they get paid is as a percentage of the assets they manage, usually around 1%-2% depending on how complex the portfolio.

3. Comprehensive Financial Planning-This is a goal focused method that uses all your goals, financial and otherwise, to determine strategies to cover the following areas:

  1. Current financial Position
    1. Cash flow analysis and other items to determine how you are doing with relations to your goals.
  2. Protection Planning
    1. What can get in the way of our goals and do we need to pay an insurance carrier to pick up the liability (life insurance, etc.)
  3. Investment Planning
    1. Monitoring and giving advice on how assets should be invested regardless of where or who is investing them for you. The advice would be driven to best achieve your stated goals.
  4. Retirement Planning
    1. Strategies to best achieve your goals in retirement.
  5. Tax Planning
    1. Strategies to save money on taxes by exploring tax free or tax deferred investments.
    2. Strategies to talk with your tax professional to minimize your taxes.
  6. Estate Planning
    1. Planning how you want your estate and goals to be carried out after you pass.
    2. The planner normally works with both your tax professional and attorney to make sure what you want to happen with your assets happens when you pass away.
  7. The way a planner gets paid is directly by you which helps insure the advice you get is not influenced by anything except your goals.
